CS: Gotta Catch 'em All

Tired of Pokemon? If so, we're sorry. If not, well we have a silly little AU for you!
It's been an exciting year for Pokemon, with Pokemon Go being a huge phenomenon and Sun and Moon just around the corner. We want to join in the fun by  inviting you to adapt your CS character(s) into Pokemon Trainers! Are they successful? Are they really bad at it? Are they a new adventurer sent out by Professor Star (The Lady of the Stars), about to challenge the league champion, or taking on contests? Just want to tell us about their favorite Pokemon? That all sounds great!

Growing up, Shaelynn loved to play with the pokemon her father raised and trained as he aimed to become a gym leader some day. Shae fondly remembers listening to the

Shaelynn isn't so much a pokemon trainer as she is an explorer who has built up a team along the way. She started off on a journey of exploration with just her little Golett and an Egg given to her by her father, and her family of pokemon has grown a lot since she started off. She doesn't battle with her pokemon unless it is necessary, as she doesn't see the point and has no desire to put them through that kind of stress, and prefers to simply experience strange places and new cities with them instead. She makes notes of the various places they visit, and keeps a log of the pokemon habitats and the berries that grown in the area. Shae has no real goal in mind, except to simply enjoy herself and her pokemon, having fun as a little family. Maybe one day she'll try to become an official Researcher, but for now she's perfectly content to explore on her own terms.

At times through their journeys, her group has run into the infamous Team Rocket and her pokemon have come to her aid to fight off the enemy pokemon. Shae isn't going out of her way to chase down members of Team Rocket, but whenever she comes to place that has been plagued by the villains presence, she'll go and try to help get rid of them. She dislikes anyone who treats other people poorly, and Team Rocket is always up to no good. Because of this, Shaelynn does train her pokemon so that they are in fighting shape and capable, but she doesn't particularly desire to put them through battles.


Golett "Glimmer" (Ground/Ghost) -- The pokemon that Shaelynn started with, and has been her constant companion ever since. She grew up with Glimmer as a small child, having bonded with the little Golett right when it hatched and the two became fast friends. When Shae decided to start out on a journey, Glimmer was at her side in an instance, ready for whatever the two of them would run into. Glimmer is a steadfast presence, and tries to be a protector to all of the other pokemon in their family, and is often at Shae's side.

Aegislash "Neassa" (Shield Forme Steel/Ghost) -- The pokemon that was held within the Egg that Shae was given by her father before starting her journey. Neassa is the true protector of the family, staying within her Shield forme more often than not, and is the strongest of the pokemon. She is rather silent, but very observant, and never misses a thing. Often is seen carrying around Cian.

Elgyem "Cian" (Psychic) -- The third pokemon that join Shaelynn. He's an inquisitive little guy who likes to get into places that he shouldn't. The two of them met after Cian sent psychic messages to Shae after he felt her presence, and he needed her help getting out of an abandoned building in which he had become trapped. Shae helped nurse him back to proper health, and Cian decided to join her permanently. Cian likes to snuggle a lot, and tends to cling to Neassa the most. He's the second most powerful of the team, but still has a lot of room to grow.

Ampharos "Jewel" (Electric) -- Originally a Mareep that has since grown to her final form, Shae met Jewel after finding her head stuffed in the backpack, mouth full of the food Shae keeps there. Deciding that Shae was some form of food guru, Jewel stuck around and joined the family. She loves eating, and is always going off on her own for a little bit to look for berries or other snacks, before coming back seemingly out of no where. Her sneaking has become a little harder now that she's much bigger than she once was (as well as the fact that the gems on her body can give off light). Though not the brightest of the bunch, Jewel is the first to jump to head first into danger without fear.

Shieldon "Gird" (Rock/Steel) -- Found alongside Dayo in a cave, Shieldon is very protective of his friend and at first he wouldn't let Shae anywhere near them. Eventually, she gained their trust long enough to give them some food and water. The two decided to follow her for days, always hanging back, but close enough to stay in sight. It was a while before Gird gave in to his curiosity, but once he did, he and Dayo have been very open and happy to join the little family. Gird likes to play pranks and games, and is always poking at Dayo, but is always on the lookout for the little guy.

Cubone "Dayo" (Ground) -- Found alongside Gird in a cave, Dayo was much more willing to join Shae than Gird was, but stayed with his friend until Gird finally gave in to his desire to join Shae's family. Dayo is a scared little guy, always hesitant and running behind Shae's boots or staying by Gird's side. He's incredibly sweet and is the youngest of the group. The others make sure to keep him out of battles for now until he's grown up a bit more.

This was a big project, I've never drawn pokemon before xD But it was so much fun and quite liberating at the same time! I tried out a different style and it was very freeing haha! I feel like I learned a lot too, so that is always awesome <3 I picked Shae's outfit from a mix of clothing options from XY xD

I knew instantly that I needed Golett for Shae, as that little pokemon embodies a lot of the ideas that I want to have for Gen1 Shae sometime in the future! <33 Aegislash in its defensive form was another instant "Yes must have this now please", the colors work so well for Crater, and it's essentially a giant shield xD Elgyem was pretty easy to decide on too (it's very sci-fi, which Shae loves, as well as the fact that Elgyems are said to become very involved with things it finds to be important and that's very Shae-like! Shieldon I picked because he's adorable, and he's got Shield in his name, so that needed to happen haha! Cubone and Ampharos were my two wild card picks, and I really like them for her. <33 Loved this task, sooo much fun xD!!!
